Routine Eye Care Now An Essential Service in Alameda County
This past Wednesday, April 29, the Alameda County Public Health Department released an update to the shelter-in-place order effective Monday, May 4.
Per the new update, “all medical services, including routine and preventative care, are considered essential. This includes, but is not limited to, mental health services, immunizations, well-woman exams, allergy shots, eye exams, physical therapy, and surgeries. With the exception of dental services, preventative and non-urgent care should generally not be deferred.”
In response to this updated order, we at Iron Horse Optometric Group are working diligently to prepare for a safe re-opening of our clinic. We will not open our doors until all appropriate safety measures & protocols are put in place per guidelines from the CDC, OSHA, and the Alameda County Public Health Department.
We understand that many of you have been making due with less-than-ideal vision & are eager for us to help. Please be patient with us as we make our best effort to plan our re-opening as safely & as smoothly as possible.
And maybe see you next week!
